I cannot say enough how much I love yoga. It has strengthened my running and my climbing immensely. In addition to the strength and flexibility it has given me to do the things I love, it brings me peace, calm, serenity, acceptance, love, and understanding in this crazy world.
I used to go to a yoga class at least 3 days a week. That is when I was working at a gym and or my climbing gym had yoga, oh yeah, and before I had a baby. Unfortunately, every time I go to yoga, I need a sitter, and to pay for a yoga studio, etc. etc. So, going to class has become a not reality for me. Sad day. Luckily for me, youtube is full of great yoga channels that I can follow and practice during nap time or while my son entertains himself with toys, the dog, and me.
One of my favorite channels I follow is Five Parks Yoga. She is so great. She has a great variety and holds poses long enough to build strength and flexibility. And, she has my favorite videos specifically created for runners and/or athletes. Since my marathon is tomorrow, I have been doing this video a lot lately. *Side note, I have had to change a few moves/poses so I don't over tax my quads for tomorrow. Wish me luck and enjoy this video.
