French Toast. So good. So. Not. Vegan. Or so we all have been lead to believe. But that is not true. French toast is so easily made vegan, it isn't even hard. Making pancakes is more time consuming. I am not joking because I make my own flours/batter from scratch for pancakes.

Seriously, sub milk for plant-based milk, throw some flour to thicken, nutritional yeast for flavor, and everything else is the same. So invite people over for brunch and wow them with this vegan french toast. Because it is the bomb. (Plus it is the toppings that really matter, right?)
Speaking of toppings. My husband just found me this great recipe for vegan cream from The Game Changers website and it was awesome on the french toast today. Also, if you haven't watched The Game Changers yet, it is on Netflix and it is amazing. My husband has been a "social omnivore" for years. I've been vegan for nearly 10 years and he happily eats whatever I make. But we keep cheese, milk, and eggs around for him and he eats meat when we are out or at people's houses. Guys, he watched Game Changers and is all in. He said, I will finish up these eggs and milk and then I am in. He even wants to move to natural peanut butter with me, and if you know him you know that peanut butter is his FAVORITE food and he loves Skippy with a passion. So guys, This. Is. HUGE. And, I have the go ahead to completely remove ALL animal products from my kid's diet! My compromise was always whatever they did have had to be organic, but now I can just take it all away. I am beyond ecstatic right now. Which is why I got up and made this tasty spread this morning.

Ingredients
6 slices bread, the hardier, the better
1 c plant-based milk of choice
2 T flour
1 heaping T nutritional yeast
1 tsp vanilla
1 T pure maple syrup
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Directions
1. Heat up your griddle on medium heat, I set mine to 300 degrees F.
2. Combine milk, flour, nutritional yeast, vanilla, syrup, and cinnamon and whisk until combined.
3. Place bread on a flat, rimmed baking tray and pour sauce over the bread, flip and slide bread around in left over sauce until all covered.
4. Bake until firm and browned on each side.
5. Serve with toppings of choice.
**We like nut butters, fruits, syrup, apple sauce, homemade jam, powdered sugar, and vegan cream.**
