Fall HIIT

Well. I accomplished something that I never thought possible.

I won a marathon.

It was a small one. I think there was less than 75 competitors total. But I won. With a time of 3:18.

It was the East Canyon Marathon just outside of Morgan, UT. It was beautiful. And it was brutal. ON many levels. This is only the 2nd year the race has been running (hah) and so there were some hiccups. As in the bus didn't show up at the hotel to pick us up and take us to the starting line as promised....So they started the race without myself, my husband, and two ladies. So we had to play catch up. Because of that, my nerves were crazy and I couldn't go to the bathroom and had to stop 2x...

The course was very downhill. As in I could feel my calves at mile 6 or 7 and my quads at mile 12ish (I don't normally feel them until after mile 20). The last 8 or so miles were flat. And almost felt uphill. I was so sore that I couldn't stand up in the porta potty and was afraid I would have to be rescued...

We hurt. Really badly. For 4 or 5 days I could barely walk. Normally I can go for a jog on Monday. We tried jogging Wednesday and turned around and went home and did yoga because it hurt so bad.

Anyway, because of all this, I have taken a bit of a hiatus from intensive HIIT workouts due to my marathon training. And yes, I do have another one in 5 weeks, but after last week's 100% rest because I could NOT move for at least 4-5 days after my race, I am ramping things back up to get ready for the St. George Marathon. Hooray!

Anyway, I created and did both of these HIIT's for an hour long workout. Get ready to sweat hard.
