Peaches and Cream Protein Bowl



I recently picked a huge laundry basket of peaches (gotta love summertime) and have been finding all sorts of great ways to use them. (Other than all the jam, and fruit leather, popcicles, and dehydrated, and canned peaches I made.)

I am a runner. Rephrase. I am a long distance runner and this is a yummy variation of one of my favorite post long run meals. It is calorically dense but doesn't feel heavy (which is key because sometimes it is hard to eat after an 18+ mile run). Really simple and luckily, all ingredients are usually on hand.

Ingredients

1/2 frozen banana

1/4 c almond milk

chia seeds

cinnamon

1 full scoop vegan vanilla protein powder (I use the Sprouts Brand)

1 spoonful natural peanut butter (or any other nut butter)

4-5 ice cubes

1 peach, sliced

Granola or Grapenuts

Directions

1. Combine all ingredients except peaches in a high power blender and blend until smooth and thick (I use the ice cream button on my Blendtec)

2. Pour into a bowl and garnish with peaches, more cinnamon, and granola or Grapenuts.

3. ENJOY
