Fall is coming. How do I know? Because A. it is almost September and B. I was just in the Tetons and fall is starting in the mountain country. It was beautiful. I was supposed to run 35 miles of the Teton Crest Trail with some girl friends of mine, but due to unforeseen circumstances of a funeral, an injury, and a family obligation, 3 of the 5 of us could no longer do the run. So it has been put on the back burner. I was super bummed. Luckily, I have an amazing husband who recognized my sadness and suggested I go up to Victor, ID and hang out with my friends anyway. So I did. And we ended up doing an 18 mile trail run in the Tetons, and it was awesome. So beautiful.

The last reason I know fall is coming is that my parent's apple tree is almost ready to harvest. I am so excited. I get hundreds of organic, local apples every fall from them. So for now, my feed has been taken over by zucchini. Soon, it will be taken over by apples, much more delicious. In preparation for the take over, I have created this apple cinnamon smoothie to get myself pumped. This is a great smoothie for any time of day. It has a little bit of protein powder in it, so if you wanted to bump up the amount it would be a very tasty post work out snack as well.

Ingredients
1 Braeburn apple
Kale
Zucchini
1/2 c Water
Cinnamon
1/3 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
Flax seed mill
Directions
1. Combine all ingredients in a high power blender, like a Blendtec, and blend until smooth
2. ENJOY
