Sorry for the hiatus.

The past few weeks have been crazy. Christmas, anniversary, and new years are all within the same week for me. So after that whirlwind died down we realized that we leave for our big trip to New Zealand (so excited) on the 20th of this month so I feel like every spare moment has been dedicated to getting prepped for that. Then add in all the insane snow and winter storms we've been getting, friends coming into town, work, and being a mom = I have felt a little swamped. But I feel like things are "slowing down" as much as possible and I was able to sit down for a few minutes and write this post.

Winter can make it hard to have much variety in my smoothies if I don't want to break the bank because let's face it, most fruit is not in season. As such, most of my smoothies revolve around apples, oranges, and pears in the winter. However, sometimes there are exciting sales at Sprout's Market and that makes life awesome. Or, sometimes my CSA share through Bountiful Baskets gives me something exciting, but in the winter that is a lot less likely because they try to keep the produce as local as possible.
I was pleasantly surprised how delightful this creation turned out. Sweet, light, and fresh is what this smoothie is. Frothy even. I liked it so much that I didn't even share it with my son. (Bad mom) But I couldn't help it, it was just so tasty. So I thought, 'I must share it with my readers.'
