Post Workout Smoothie Bowl

I am addicted to exercise.

I am addicted to smoothies.

I am addicted to this smoothie bowl because it has everything you need in it: protein, fruits and vegetables provide important vitamins, omega's from the chia seeds, whole grains from homemade granola, and it helps re-hydrate you after your workout (although you should drink water after too).

2. It is delicious.

3. It is made with items I almost always have on hand. No weird ingredients you have to google just to know what they are.

4. I can thin it down and give it to my son as a snack. He loves green smoothies. We call them 'Mommy drink.'

5. It is refreshing after a hard workout (unless it is winter and I've been running outside, then I want something warm like peanut butter toast...)

I am not going to talk too long because frankly, I have nothing to say. Life's been crazy. We just got home from a camping trip to the San Rafael Swell and I still feel like I am coated in sand. There were 25+ mph winds all day and even worse at night. We woke up covered in 1/2 inch in sand IN OUR TENT. And when I say woke up I mean agreed to get out of bed because nobody really slept because the wind was trying to rip our tent off the ground all night and blow us away like a tumble weed.

So enjoy this smoothie bowl and scroll to the bottom for some beautiful pics of some hidden treasures.

Ingredients

Kale

1 Frozen Banana

1/2 - 1 scoop Vanilla Vegan Protein Powder

5-7 Ice Cubes

Almond Milk, just enough to make it blend. I am talking a few splashes

Toppings

Chia Seeds

Almonds

Granola

Any fruits you desire

Directions

1. Wash Kale and combine kale, frozen banana, protein powder, ice, and almond milk in a high power blender, I use my Blendtec, and blend until smooth.

**You want barely enough liquids to make it blend because you want it to be thick. The consistency of soft serve ice cream is what you are going for.**

2. Pour into a bowl and top with toppings of choice.

3. ENJOY

My husband carries the babe 97% of the time. I have to fight to get to carry him. Something about him feeling guilty and judged by people looking at him when I am carrying the baby and he isn't. I don't question, it's a man thing I think.

Anyway, yesterday as we were walking. He reached out his hand and said, "Mommy hold you." Meaning he wanted to hold my hand. It was pretty sweet and actually melted my heart a little. At one point, I was holding my husband's hand and his hand and he was holding my husband's hand in his other hand. We looked like an awesome, tender family.

Wind, it's what's for dinner...

I think this was the best day of Koda's life...but we say that every time we go hiking. How would it be to live in the present all the time? Every day is the best day. I think I need to learn a lesson from Koda Boy and live every day like it is the best day of my life. But really, he had such a good time. He was wiped out once we got back to camp.

Majestic.
